This park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most significant archaeological sites in the world, with more than 20,000 ancient tombs, rock-cut caves, and ancient temples. The site spans more than 43 square kilometers and contains numerous prehistoric settlements, dating back to the Neolithic period, through Hellenistic and Roman times, to the Byzantine era. The park is divided into two parts: the Kato Pafos archaeological site and the Pafos Castle.
The Kato Pafos archaeological site includes the Odeon, the Asklepieion, the Agora, the “Saranta Kolones” fortress, the basilica of Panagia Limeniotissa (Our Lady of the Harbour), and other important monuments.
